Call for Chapters

Dear Colleague

I’m reaching out to let you know about an exciting opportunity to contribute to The Routledge International Handbook on Social Exclusion and Radicalisation, edited by myself, Dr. Lianne Vostermans, and Dr. Richard McNeil-Willson.

This groundbreaking handbook will examine the relationship between social exclusion and radicalisation on a global scale, using multidisciplinary perspectives. It aims to illuminate how experiences of inequality, discrimination, oppression, and marginalisation can feed into extremist ideologies.

We welcome chapter proposals from diverse fields that address this topic through conceptual analysis, empirical research, comparative case studies, and more. Potential areas of focus include specific excluded groups, emotional and psychological impacts, policy effectiveness, gender dimensions, far-right extremism, postcolonialism, peacebuilding, and more.

Key deadlines: Chapter proposals due: February 29, 2024 (Decisions within 6 weeks)

Full draft chapters due: August 31, 2024

Please consider this opportunity to make a substantial scholarly contribution on the vital issues of exclusion, identity, disadvantage, and ideological extremism.
